Differential Fluid Changes
Every heavy-duty truck has at least one differential. This differential is a set of gears designed to transfer power to each of your wheels. These gears need to be lubricated at all times. Fortunately, this fluid lasts significantly longer than others because it doesn’t get nearly as hot. Most manufacturers recommend you change your differential fluid every 100 thousand kilometers. Do keep in mind that this service interval may change depending on how much you use your truck to haul heavy loads.
Heavy-Duty Axle Replacements
Heavy-duty axles are incredibly tough, but they’re not immune to damage. If they’re overloaded, the risk of them snapping or warping rises significantly. What does it mean to overload your truck? Trying to haul more weight than your truck and trailer are rated for is one way to do it, but driving over uneven terrain to the point where wheels are lifting off the ground is another.
